Imagine being able to enjoy direct access to a 30-acre linear urban park for running, walking or bicycling – just seconds from your front door – through The Travis at Katy Trail’s private controlled access gate.
The Katy Trail is a 3.5-mile greenbelt connecting Dallas’ premier urban neighborhoods from Airline Road in University Park near the SMU campus to American Airlines Center in Victory Park. As further development of the Katy Trail continues, it will soon extend from White Rock Lake to the Trinity River.
The landscaped trail, following the path of the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT or “Katy”) Railroad line, features a lighted 12-foot-wide concrete bicycle and pedestrian path and a parallel 8-foot-wide soft-surface running path. Public trailheads along the path link the Katy Trail to several other area parks.
